while that is also 4 words , I can see some uses.
dropping a pin doesn't often work well from my phone and sending it has limits between phone types android vs apple.
also dropping a pin generally you have to be there to do it then send your location , this lets you pick a location easily and get the 3 words.
if you are giving it via text or phone or over the radio that sends easier
I also find when I give directions and addresses ,people don't follow how I think of things.
I say the 1700 block of W 5th Ave and they say what? I really didn't think I could get much more clear than that it sets a very specific place.
or I give a cross road meet me at and they don't get that either.
I think the thing that this does the best is let you pick map points and not have to give a GPS number to get some one to it AND work between android , apple and PC

after selecting the grid square with the statue in it on my phone and it giving me the 3 words , I typed those three words into the website on my pc and it zoomed in and highlighted that grid square.
so rather than telling the farm intern go put the stock tank 100 yards south of the North east corner of the North pasture , you give them 3 words and say drop it there. they type that into the app and bam you you just got a 19 year old to drop a water tank where you actually wanted it.
this might not be needed for you but as a tool to help the directionally and distance challenged it's not a bad tool.
I can also see it as a fishing tool.
sure I can waypoint it in my GPS on the boat but if I am in a friends boat or I am telling a friend where I found fish rather than getting into long lat and longitude it is 3 words they type it in and they are there between platforms.
also lets you pick stuff on the PC for points and places of interest and the 3 words fit in a little write in the rain notebook easily for where I want to try fishing by looking before the trip.
