During that last mini boom I took one that had been over-summered and looked horrible and threw it in with the others. They all got the same $40 And the reason it had been left out of the year before consignment is that it had so many bite holes you could have used it as a strainer.

If the hatters are moving and there’s under fur, they’ll move. During the last hatter craze I had some junk that fetched good $$. If they forgot what they learned a few years ago, the flat ones will move well too…..lol

Define stale.

As far as the hatter market they still have good value

Skin, fleshed, stretched and dried. Two years old not stored in a freezer. Yellowish cast to the oil on leather side.

Well it is Alaska, so was stored in a freezer for half of the years.

Ok, should have stored in.a.freezer. Still has value for the hatter market

A market that requires tanning not so sure say if you had some shearables

I got some fur tanned last year that was very yellow. The guy said it was “a few years old” but was stored well in the attic of his garage lol. There was a fisher and bobcat with cites tags. Unless I am mistaken, NY tags have the last two digits as the year. One ended in 00, the other ended in 01.

It all tanned perfectly fine. Dry is dry I guess.

I agree, stale will tan. Done it before. Tanning is no longer an option. Price is getting too ridicules in Alaska.
