One of the rabbit doe had been geting aggressive when being feed. It got to the point my daughter got fed uo and let it loose to avoided having anyone geting bit trying to feed it. The next day the rabbit was dead missing its head. Also had a puff of feathers near by that suggest we had lost another chicken as well.

My guess was a raptor either hawk or owl. We have had rabbits running loose for months before with no problems.

Always fun to hear all the reply on the what did it threads.

owl would be my guess , they will separate a carcass and fly it out in pieces. so when all you find is some feathers they carried the rest way.

we had a chicken pen without a top several years ago , was having birds go missing and just some feathers was all that was left , put a game camera on it and caught the owl with the cam.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

It was likely a great horned or barn owl. Hawks eat into the organs. Owls eat rabbit heads.

It went in the outdoor wood burner right away.

Owl…… actually saw happen…. Great Horned Owl swooped down and popped the head off a cottontail…. Didn’t even slow down.
