I thought it was shark bites don't leak , till they do.
and they don't for everyone and not leaking for 5 years is not the same as not leaking , it seems really similar for 5 years and then it isn't.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Im lucky. Replumbed half the basement over 10 years ago with all kinds of shark fittings and have never had a leak. Hot and cold water. Didn't know anyone had problems with them.

But your hot water doesn't get to 180 degrees or higher pf is running a outside wood burner heating his domestic hot water during winter months and I know for a fact that water gets hotter then 180 that's normally when the fan or solenoid shuts off so that water temp will get alot hotter then 180. Iam not sure what shark bites are rated for.

Looks like PEX. I would check to be certain the pipe is pushed all the way in, fully seated in the fitting. I have used a lot of Shark Bite fittings over the years, and knock on wood, zero leaks, that I am aware of. I don't use them anymore. I use PEX or similar for tubing and crimp insert fittings now. Quality crimpers have come down in price dramatically, and the fittings and crimp rings are cheap.
Just doing what I want now.

Iam not sure what shark bites are rated for. Thanks for clarifying. I just looked up general ratings for them. It said 200°F and 200-250psi.

They are absolute garbage. I hate them and have banned my employees from using them. We’ve seen way too many problems caused by them.

Often shark bites are not properly installed or the wrong one. alaska viking Is a prime example, shakes bites need to be pulled after inserting and twist.
