Have any of you used the jc conner Tracker Pro Pivot Drag with Forged Points. if you have do you like the 2 pound or 3 pound better for coyotes?

Have used most of them for coyote work....top notch!
The Tracker Pro Pivot Drags are excellent! I like the heaviest drag I can get for coyotes.
In your country these drags will shine.

Use his 3 pound Tracker Drag that does not pivot and love it. It holds coyotes. Any drag JC Conner makes will do what you need.

I own both styles. You won't go wrong with JC's Pivot drags; they are top notch.
In my Pennsylvania brush, I use 2 pounders.

I also own and use both styles. I like the pivot when a drag gets taken into some open ground. Most of mine are 3# size. They are my go to for most of my cat work along with extension cables. I rarely stake a cat set.

A lot depends on what you want the drag to do for you. I trap private ranches doing Predator control work in Central Texas. I’m not worried about theft.

I like a heavy drag because I don’t want the coyote go far. Ten yards is plenty far enough for me. I just want it to get away from my set and hang up close. I don’t want to have to search long for it. I carry extra drags on short chains to add onto setups in sparsely wooded ranches. So I often run two drags on a trap.

Weight is not an issue because I leave from my house in a truck every day. I haul traps in a side-by-side. I don’t have to walk into an area. I set right next to the vehicle.

Those are my reasons for using heavy drags. Your reasons may be be different. The main thing is to use your head and make your own decisions. Give things a try. Experiment. Then see what happens.

Mostly where I trap is public ground and In NV we can't set traps within 200ft of a road so I do have to walk to my sets and where I trap the sagebrush is usually pretty thick so I am not worried about theft. The drags I have been using are some I have made that I just copied a sabortooth drag and I have been running 8ft of Chain which I have found to be plenty especially in the the thicker brush. So I think I might be able to get away with a 2 pound drag. What one of his drags would you recommend?
