Ted Sparker and Sam Rohrer gave a great class on snaring in Kodiak and how to make break away snares. There is an issue with locale fox snaring and some issues with bears being caught and some family dogs also. They did a great job on how trappers could be proactive about how to use and build break away snares, without the Board of game mandating it. They also addressed the issues that would be difficult to enforce with codified language. As you can see there was a good turn out. Everyone learned something new. [Linked Image]

I miss seeing and talking with Ted at the BOG meetings. He was so good at keeping things moving along, digging down to members real concerns with proposals and dialing in on benefits as well reasonable concerns with passing or rejecting controversial proposals.
I lived in Kodiak from 83-85 and did some trapping. Mostly beaver and otter but dabbled in fox with footholds. They are the nicest fox I have ever seen. The silvers are just gorgeous.

Just doing what I want now.
