I know they're kind of inexpensive but what parts of the snare can/do you reuse?
I don't have enough snare experience but heres what I'm pondering---

Part of the cable that's not tore up from the lock or unraveled.
The locking mechanism.
Anchor swivel.
Wammy's.
Support wire.
How about the breakaways?

Ya can't miss fur if yur traps are out somewhere.
Or so I've been told.

I save the lock, spring, swivel and the washers.

I always put new poly collar, and break away.

And new cable of course.

Let me sugar coat this

I use mostly Lightsout, so the spring obviously. If I used a swivel, I’ll keep as they’re pretty heavy duty. Breakaways ……gone. I give the lock a good look and if anything’s not right, it’s gone. Most locks get tossed, it’s not worth it rolling the dice.
Be careful with the components you buy. Some of the hardware store ferrules & stops are junk and aren’t consistent! It cost me some good money this year…….learned my lesson. Now I either gotta replace the stops or I’ll probably just give em a good tap with a punch on my existing ones.

Dam auto correct! Took me 10 minutes to type this! The first shot it read like I was talking hockey & beavers! Auto correct seems to have gotten a lot worse recently…..lol

I do the same. The only thing new is the cable and maybe trap tag.
