Good deal! The boys and I were patterning turkey guns today. Can hardly wait for season.

Ain’t gonna lie, I still have 9 boxes of TSS, but I bought some #6 Long Beard XR in 20ga and they patterned surprisingly good. Of course that bird was all of maybe 12-15yds through some brush, but it crushed that noggin. With the price of TSS about $14 a shell now, I’m saving TSS for out of State hunts.

That TSS is rough to afford, and about to get a lot rougher, but it sure does hit them hard. I only kill them inside thirty yards, so patterning my stuff is a bit cheaper than it is for the boys guns, lol. Although they've never killed one over twenty yards, it's nice knowing that they have a little more range if they ever need it.

I was told even those small manufacturers of TSS shells may be calling it quits with the price of TSS the way it is now. Glad I bought all mine when it was basically half the price it is now!!
That XR had a pretty decent pattern at 40yds. Guess load development has changed since I last shot lead for turkeys many many years ago.

Looks like a great day in the outdoors.

I still use #8 lead shot, 12,20,28 or 410 whatever is closer. Open the door and pull the trigger about 20 in the yard yesterday morning.
