Well, if all things are a go… the Artemis is scheduled for launch around 6:24 eastern time.
This rocket is said to be more powerful than the Saturn which was used during the Apollo program.

I’d love to be there just to hear those engines roar.

If launch was near or after dark would be able to see it from here if clear skies and if a northeast launch trajectory.

Probably be too cloudy this evening to see from here at the state line.

Our country needs a national goal like a space program. Remember when kids looked up to astronauts and aspired to go into space? It was a good thing.

I wish my kids would have experienced watching the space shuttle launch on a television set that was rolled into science class like I did--even the Challenger explosion--which I watched live in Ms. William's class.

I don't know much about this launch because I've been slammed at work but I will certainly watch with the sons who are still at home.

When I was in Grade 7 our science teacher put Star Wars on during lunch break in his classroom for a couple weeks.

It was pretty cool.

The single most powerful piece of evidence are the refraction mirrors that were placed on the moon during the Apollo missions.
Every observatory on earth, is able to project lasers to them… they are important for studying earth to moon distances.

That does sound cool. Did they wheel the TV in on one of those carts?

We should start a new thread on which is the best Star Wars and why.

Yup, the tv came in on a cart and vhs player on the shelf underneath the tv. That was the only time I have watched the Star Wars movies.

Those carts were awesome! I loved the 10-15 minutes it took the teacher to figure out what cord went where to get what they wanted on the screen. Free time!!!

Was at the tax preparer today and he was watching the moon launch prep, then he showed me pictures of the challenger explosion he witnessed from his house....Another friend that lived there for awhile commercial clamming in sight of the launches said the sound was so loud he could feel the vibration and shock through his body...

Said he felt like a dinosaur, tonging clams with 16 th century technology while watching a moon launch....lol

Pretty cool. There’s an uncomprehending amount of power on display there!
So, in about 5 or 6 days, the conspiracy stuff will be taking off big time!

I think I read that this is just a mission, just to get more information, before a landing launch !

So there won't be much of a conspiracy to get going.

Ya wanna bet? Wait till they send nice crisp pics of the moon. People will see things they are looking for. Like that face on Mars, pic from another angle shows it’s just another mountain.
Don’t get me wrong, I love watching the conspiracy and alien shows. Bigfoot are the best, but it’s always the same stories being retold.

Not a single word of it is true. For starters, Lets talk about the phone call back to Nixon. 280,000 miles. I guess they had great cell service in the 60's?

A radio patch allows communication from 500 miles...or more. Google says its 239,000 miles to the moon.

And here I thought 239,000 miles was more than 500 miles.

If the Apollo missions were able to communicate with Houston, that signal could easily be "patched" into the phone system to Washington DC.

Several decades ago I could easily use a CB radio in the middle of Alaska to make a phone call to my mother in California.......even though I had no phone, and no electrical system other than a battery. She had no radio. Just a phone.

The same is even more versatile with HF systems.
