Well, if all things are a go… the Artemis is scheduled for launch around 6:24 eastern time. This rocket is said to be more powerful than the Saturn which was used during the Apollo program.
I’d love to be there just to hear those engines roar.

Our country needs a national goal like a space program. Remember when kids looked up to astronauts and aspired to go into space? It was a good thing.
I wish my kids would have experienced watching the space shuttle launch on a television set that was rolled into science class like I did--even the Challenger explosion--which I watched live in Ms. William's class.
I don't know much about this launch because I've been slammed at work but I will certainly watch with the sons who are still at home.

When I was in Grade 7 our science teacher put Star Wars on during lunch break in his classroom for a couple weeks.
The United States did put humans on the moon. If the United States was unsuccessful,, then Russia would never have abandoned the race. The moon landing took THOUSANDS to make it possible… if it was all a charade,,, someone would have blabbed.. people like to talk and become famous from writing books. The single most powerful piece of evidence are the refraction mirrors that were placed on the moon during the Apollo missions. Every observatory on earth, is able to project lasers to them… they are important for studying earth to moon distances.

It was pretty cool.
That does sound cool. Did they wheel the TV in on one of those carts?
We should start a new thread on which is the best Star Wars and why.
Yup, the tv came in on a cart and vhs player on the shelf underneath the tv. That was the only time I have watched the Star Wars movies.
Those carts were awesome! I loved the 10-15 minutes it took the teacher to figure out what cord went where to get what they wanted on the screen. Free time!!!

Was at the tax preparer today and he was watching the moon launch prep, then he showed me pictures of the challenger explosion he witnessed from his house....Another friend that lived there for awhile commercial clamming in sight of the launches said the sound was so loud he could feel the vibration and shock through his body...
Said he felt like a dinosaur, tonging clams with 16 th century technology while watching a moon launch....lol

You knew it was going to be a good class when the cart got wheeled in.
Sorry Crammer, I had to turn you off to watch the launch!! Great and it still impresses me after all these years that that big thing can fly.......YIPPIE......jk

I'm always amazed by all that's required to accomplish that feat. It's no small thing.
Honor a Soldier. Be the kind of American worth fighting for.
I think I read that this is just a mission, just to get more information, before a landing launch !
So there won't be much of a conspiracy to get going.
Ya wanna bet? Wait till they send nice crisp pics of the moon. People will see things they are looking for. Like that face on Mars, pic from another angle shows it’s just another mountain. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching the conspiracy and alien shows. Bigfoot are the best, but it’s always the same stories being retold.

Not a single word of it is true. For starters, Lets talk about the phone call back to Nixon. 280,000 miles. I guess they had great cell service in the 60's?

Careful Finlander that you don't fall off the edge of the flat Earth.

And here I thought 239,000 miles was more than 500 miles.
If the Apollo missions were able to communicate with Houston, that signal could easily be "patched" into the phone system to Washington DC.
Several decades ago I could easily use a CB radio in the middle of Alaska to make a phone call to my mother in California.......even though I had no phone, and no electrical system other than a battery. She had no radio. Just a phone.

There's a short book written by a Navy admiral on the topic and his time there. Pretty crazy story he has. His kids apparently published it after his death.
Finlander, are you having a conversation with yourself?……..lol
