Speed metal is what we called it but was in the hair band era. Monsters of rock in 88 had Metallica in its line up. Saw that show in Memphis back then. Believe the tickets were expensive at $35.

My youngest brother, a cousin and some friends of mine went to the Cincinnati WEBN Fireworks, a long time ago, near the Ohio River. They put their chairs by a little concrete pad, where nobody else was around. A couple of hours later Jackyl just rolled up and played there too. I wish I had been there.

They played Bogarts in Cincinati, when they first started to get popular. Jesse and the rest of the band were on WEBN to promote it. Jesse said anybody who brought a chainsaw would get in free. The DJ said I didn't know that, how does it work. Jesse said just fire that mother up and rush the door. You'll get in, but you might not be staying long. You'll probably be in a jail cell later.
