If you have a farm cooperative store in your area, buy your seeds there. They are a tiny fraction of the price of box store or most online seed company seeds.

I just got two full plastic grocery bags of seeds for $17.00.

I paid:

70 cents a pound for Red Norland and Red Pontiac potatoes.

$1.50 a pound for red and yellow onion bulbs.

$3.25 a pound for candy onion bulbs.

40 cents per heaping teaspoon of radish, lettuce and spinach.

50 cents per heaping teaspoon of parsnips.

All the seeds come from Rupp and have to germinate at a much higher rate than box store seeds to be sold.

There's also a much greater variety.

Yep, ..and if you can find the seeds you want, and don't mind if they're last seasons, a lot of public libraries have them for free...free is good!
