Thought id make a post about this fantastic book. Written by Lee strobel. Lee used to work for the Chicago Tribune and was a staunch atheist. He became extremely angry when he found out that his wife joined a church and he set out to prove to his wife her foolishness ( so he thought) what happened, through his investigations was a complete 180 Degree turn…
I read “ The case for Easter “ a few years ago… it was well written and the way it was written was almost like presenting evidence to a jury. Lee starts out with when JESUS was praying in the garden so hard that he was sweating blood. It sounds strange and far fetched,,, but a human can indeed do that in extreme cases of stress.. Lee goes into depth about how it’s scientifically possible. How would the writers of the bible know about this extremely rare event? He goes into detail about the beating, and how extensive it was , the crucification and how it was unsurvivable,( according to some,, including Muslims,JESUS faked his death and ran off to live with monks in the far east, or how he never really died and supposedly was resurrected) The burial in the tomb, And the evidence of the resurrection itself .
It’s a really good read guys. Not trying to convert anyone,,, just trying to open up some perspective. Happy Easter!!!

I'm fairly familiar with Lee Strobel's story. His portrayal of the beating Christ took is probably best illustrated in Gibson's movie, Passion of the Christ. It was that bad.
Every time I laugh, cough, or sneeze, my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires.

Foxkidd, bringing lost souls to the foot of the Cross, it is what we are called and or commanded by Jesus Christ to do.
That scene from the Passion of the Christ knocks me to my knees every Easter weekend. As it should.
Absolutely brutal. Apparently another reason that Mel Gibson could not get any support ( among others) was that the beating was too brutal and they said he needed to tame it down to keep it from becoming a rated r . Mel said absolutely not,,, If he’s going to tell the story then he’s going to get it right as best he could. The scriptures do indeed tell us that his face was unrecognizable.

I don't think most protestant religions do the 14 Stations of the Cross, like Catholics do. Here they are.
When I was in grade school, we had to perform them every Good Friday. It was a somber day. Many Catholic churches have stained glass windows, or carvings of the Passion of the Christ, depicting the 14 Stations.
I was brought up catholic,, and our church did indeed have the stations of the cross. Was also a replica of the pieta that was sculpted by Michelangelo ( Mary holding the body of JESUS at the foot of the cross). All kinds of other statues of saints in there. It was a tad creepy to a kid.
