Governments confiscate guns and lots of other stuff) all the time,In your country too. When we were teenagers we used to go to the confiscation auctions. There were tables and tables of guns and other stuff confiscated, even a float plane one time. We used to buy the 303 british, they were cheap and great moose hunting guns, That was the reason they had so many all the time -they were the favorite gun for poachers, lol. No different today, people just ignore stupid laws and go along with their buisness. I been checked by gamewardesn for licences etc never been harassed always get along good with them all, there is a helmet law for 4 wheelers but never been enforced in the bush in my experience. That’s been my experience 90% of the time with game wardens in Canada as well Boco. It’s the 10% that can be a pita. Seems to be more of the 10%ers. around the last 8-10 years then there were my first 35 years of going to Canada.

It’s way easier to get a firearm illegally anyways. These laws just effect law abiding citizens.

I could get all guns in Canada turned in in a day. Just have the Unions tell them that it is good for brotherhood.
Just the right amount of whelm.

Most of the people I run into up north would give up all their guns before their union card.

Digger, if that’s your perspective of the northern people, then the furthest north you’ve ever been is the WI/MN state line. You’ve got a lot to learn about the north sonny…… Only good thing coming out of Wisconsin is the I94. I was going to say Dave, but he’s from Iowa……lol Ok, just joking around. One thing I noticed about American unions, they seem to pressure their members to vote Dem.

Not so sure you have to pressure an American union member to vote dem. If you're union dems put more money into the machine so you vote dem.

That’s true, but being a union member doesn’t change who you are. The IBEW was pushing Dem and our local was pushing anything but Conservative. I’d say maybe 1 in 20 of American or Canadian linemen would vote Dem or Lib. They picked the wrong crowd to push that crap and they got lit up for it on social media.

Funny how Canadians and Americans generalize each other. I see it all the time. I have lots of 20 year + Canadian friends and my kids are life long friends with my Can. Buddies kids. They come here and visit a couple times a year, we go there more than that. My son and daughters have a softball team called “The boarder Jumpers”, their younger Canadian friends have come to play over the 4th for years. Team has US and Canada flags on the shirts and they hang both flags on the fence during games, Canada flag just a ticky lower than US. Most of my US buddies that meet them always generalize when telling other people about Canadians when they actually only know a few Canadians from a very small community in NW Ont. They say things like, “Canadians drink beer all day, then switch to whiskey at night like it’s nothing”. I’m thinking, well I’m an American and I did the exact same thing with them right in front of you”lol The Canadians do the same thing when their at home, things like “Americans all play softball and drink a dirty pile of Bush light while their doing it!”. lol. Lots and lots of stuff like that. Here’s a team pic from a few years ago: ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/04/full-10490-290153-img_7906.png)

Funny thing, I was in the teamsters and was never told how to vote. It amazes me that most people who say that have never been in a union. Maybe not, but can you say that none of your union dues went to support liberal political candidates?
Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait

It's not easy to find a nonunion job anymore. Been that way for a long time now. We all have to feed our families, and pay our bills. Just because the union backs a politician you wouldn't vote for, doesn't mean quit your job. Everyday we have to deal with people we don't agree with. Doesn't mean we should give up either.

I was a teamster local 407 , and they would send me mail telling me who they backed, always democrat. But that was over 40 years ago, and I hope they woke up. UAW the same way.
