I like your style Dirt. These days a trapper has to look at all their options and try to make an informed decision.

Dirt - some times you can’t believe the FH color descriptions. I looked at every single wolverine picture in the March catalog. And in my opinion, there are any number of medium and dark wolverine in that catalog. I will admit I am not a wolverine expert, not even close but when the Diamond by the rump is a dark rusty brown, that is NOT a pale wolverine!!!!

After a quick glance through the March catalog, it seems to me that FH has made some adjustments to their wolverine colors.

New name - old name

Pale - dark
Extra pale - medium
Extra extra pale - pale
Extra extra extra pale - extra pale.

That is just my opinion. Take it for what it’s worth.

It has always been that way here.

Wissmiss your input is always appreciated. I’m watching the wolverine prices now as FHA has now become an option for selling wolverine with their slowly improving price levels.

Those that live in Alaska have always had that advantage of a price bubble little affected by the realities of the general fur trade. If FHA can match that sez good things about the current health of the fur trade imho.

A lot of the time their is a large price drop between differing grades, sizes, or colors. Sometimes you only want to send certain size grade or color to FHA and market the rest a more profitable way. It appeared pale (dark) wolverines were the least popular color at FHA.
