Do you purge the hydro line to the attachment before hooking it up to your equipment? The reason being to remove any contaminants or differing hydraulic fluid from previous machines. How important is it?

it probably wouldn't be a terrible idea but I have never seen anyone do it.

my son worked for a rental operation and purging was not normal.

more of a hook up & Go

trust the filter is getting it and the little bit of other type of fluid is still a lot less than what the total is.


America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

No. Just regularly maintain the hyd filter on tractor. On a farm with same implements being hooked to different tractors its a lot of unprotected hookups going on lol.

Each time I purchase an attachment, I purge line and cyclinder prior to using. It may be nonsense to some, but im fairly particular about those things. Ive never rented, but if I did, I sure as heck would not be pumping other fluid through my system....maybe its just me.

It sounds like your tractor should wear a filter, or it could get TD, Tractor Disease. grin
