Getting sick from morels is not really normal is it? I'd bet it wasn't the mushrooms or you got something on them like raw chicken juice or something and cross contaminated them? be curious to see what happens this year I guess. Good luck. lol.

The standard with wild mushrooms is to just eat a tiny amount the first time. You can have an allergy reaction to a new one.

We have always eaten them. Last year was just a doozy.

It is very odd that we both got sick the same night after consuming them. I can’t recall what I cooked in addition to them last year , if anything. Sometimes we just want to eat the morels on a cleansed palate with no other foods, and we didn’t pig out on them like we had in previous years. Who knows?
