I've met Warden Bubba Haley while antelope hunting in that area. Great guy, everything you would want in a warden, professional and very helpful.

I read about this a while back. It gives outdoorsman a terrible black eye and is just stupid. There's no reason or justification for it. I hope the idiot hasn't reproduced because the chances that his offspring would wind up as dumb as he is is too big of a risk. It does sound like his entire family is a bunch of idiots though. Not one of them told him to put it down?

This opens the Pandora’s box for criminal prosecution for wildlife offenses. Now if I have to shoot a deer twice will I be charged with a crime.
I know of a case in Canada ( I think) were a guy put down his dogs. They dug them up and found multiple gunshot wounds. He was charged for animal cruelty. A domestic animals are protected under the animal cruelty laws. But…

18 months probation and $1,000 fine. He was also forced to get the same hair cut as his wife.

Vinke are you going to take the wounded deer into a bar and parade it around before putting it out of it's misery. I see what you're saying but it's an apples and oranges comparison. I remember a couple kids in Pennsylvania (I think that's where it was) a few years back did something similar with a deer. Very stupid and I can't see the point in it. Outdoorsman, hunters, and trappers can be our own worst enemy just on stupidity alone.
