I recently read through Tracy Truman's new book, Mastering Bobcat Trapping: Small Gains, Big Catches. It is a really good book, even if you aren't a bobcat trapper. In clear concise detail, it tells the reader how to become a better trapper. As Tracy explains, there is not a big secret that will double or triple your catch, rather it is small incremental gains in doing things better and more efficiently in all the different facets of your operation that will add up to a better catch.

I've seen this in my own trapping, the more things you can do right with your whole operation, the better your catch will be. It is easy to be complacent and think that you have it all figured out, but paying close attention to what you do on the trap line and why you do it will pay dividends.

Writing a book is not an easy task, writing one that explains things to its readers in a clear and accurate manner is even harder. Tracy has done this with his new book and shared his hard earned knowledge from his trap line in Nevada. I respect and appreciate his efforts.

I got a chance to visit with Tracey this past year while at John Graham's Coyote Days. He put on a great demo and answered any questions I had later on as well. Reading the book was like visiting with him all over again. You won't be disappointed in buying this book.

Bobcats are my favorite animal to trap.
I've heard this is a great book, I need to spend the money for it.

One of the better trapping books out there. Regardless of species.

It’s one of those “read twice and keep close at hand” books if I do say.

Looking forward to using those western cat trapping techniques on some southern cats.

I read the book all winter, numerous times. Doubled my cat catch with its knowledge. However, I trap in a low cat density area. It’s a fantastic book.
