Well got around to ripping down some wood for these rabbit pens . Iwas gonna get a table saw but remembered I got one of these rip jig deals from kreg a while back so said lemme try this before dropping $500 on a table saw and already was using a thinner blade so just put some 2x2's under my work price and

Yeah y'all where right about them being a bit warped but only hand one that was really bad . And honestly it's not that bad I can completely rip one of these 2x6x10"s down in three pieces in like a minute in a half. The last piece haven't been the best so far...might chunk them idk. Could have made better ones if I went through all the boards but was in a but of a rush today so just left it to the guys loading me . but all in all don't think it's too bad . Especially when I can get a 2x6x10 for $6 and each is giving me usually two usable pieces. Vs I gotta dig though the stack of 2x2's for 30min to find enough that are decent enough to use and then they want $5 a pop ! Like this is what I wasn't ending up getting out the last stack ....didn't help I couldn't anyone to drop a new bunk of them down for me smirk

Anyway just a lil update , now , town to start trying to make a cut list and start treating the ones that will be on the ground

Good enough for who it's for, as I always say.

If your index finger is calloused enough you can use it as a guide just like your jig, only faster. If you have wuss hands, better use the jig. laugh

So decided to try something. All my unused 2x4's get sat to the side and dry out pretty good an I had this bunch. Unfortunately I didn't storothis right and some of them drooped a bit but some to the sight ones made some nice ones... I really need to make a solar kiln or at least a nice lumber rack because the chickens using my wood for a roost and toilet is a lil annoying

Also if you stack the fresh cut pieces properly, will take alot of the warp out of em as they dry
