Wow, that just seems like a detail that would be pretty self evident, and not meant to ruffle their feathers....Must be some special new hires down there, Lol.

I could see it happening though for sure.

1. If somebody is looking at your tag you will know it because they never roll them back the same way, even if they try.

2. It requires at least a minimal effort to inspect, but many non trapppers either won't, or don't even recognize it as a tag.

3. It's a neat, compact way of attaching a tag that doesn't look like a billboard.

Had several wardens unroll mine, and honestly hasn't been a problem so far.

Good deal on the KY GWs. Unfortunately, here in Georgia, most of the past few year's new hires would struggle with that rolled tag....if they even recognized it as such.

I do the same on a link of the trap chain.
Have had GW's check my sets and never said a word.
When I caught my wolverine, all the GW said was I know you didn't put the tag on after you caught it! LOL

The major reason I roll mine in the cable/trap, is I used to have to replace some when an animal was caught.
And would be hard to prove a tag was on the trap/snare if a GW found it .
They don't come off unless you unroll it.
