It is that time of year again. The years sure roll by it seems like to me. Our Pennsylvania District 3 banquet is upon us once again. This coming Saturday April 18th we will be hosting our annual banquet. Dave Eckels is our banquet chairman who does an excellent job of hosting this event every year.

It is our annual fund raising event which helps us with our budget in holding our Trappers School, Scholarship program and our fur sale each year. Not to mention helping us to donate to those states needing financial support with legal fights thru the year.

I have made and will donate once again this year. I have been working on these projects in my spare time since mid February. I am putting the final touches on a few things.

2 beaver hoops. (1) is a medium size beaver the other an XL beaver. 2 Ferro fire starters and 2 Flint and 1 Obsidian stone knives.

Not sure if I will make any more of these in the future.

Wonder who I’ll have to fight this year to win one of them. I drove the price of a flint striker up last year but good

The feathers are mock eagle feathers.

I thought they looked like eagle feathers. I didn't know you could buy imitation eagle feathers but I looked it up and they're available at a lot of places.

I did a lot of work for a resort in the Poconos. They had an eagles nest for years and the ground beneath it was littered with feathers. I told the ground crew to grab me some tail feathers (for my hooped beaver) and they refused, said we could all get in big trouble.

I ask what they did with them and they told me they just mowed right over them.

Eh...wot?

Yes authentic feathers are illegal to possess except for native americans from what I understand.
