Rocky Mountain Fur company embarked on the spring hunt in northern Utah. A few months later after a very successful hunt they will bring in those pelts to the second rendevouz in Cache Valley where William Ashley makes enough off of them to sell out to Jackson, Sublette and Smith and retire.

Yep, what an amazing time in history.

Ashley didnt exactly retire. He still brokered supplies to the mountains, bought and sold fur, and pursued an active role in politics.

It was the firm of Ashley & Henry and then he took as a partner, for a very short time Jed Smith, and when he sold then it was to the firm of Smith, Jackson, and Sublette. When they sold out to Bridger, Milton Sublette, Tom Fitzpatrick and others, that is when the firm name became The Rocky Mountain Fur Company. Or so most of the books on the subject say. A little before my time.

You're well past "fearsome confused", pretty much lost.
