Us northern guys learned a long time ago. Put ice and water in that Igloo water cooler, and it is cooler and tastes better then dragging around that clear gallon jug all day. G.

Used to be around here 2 layers of wood then 3 layers of asphalt, when that went bad throw some steel over all that and you’re good to go.

Wolfdog , you're wearing me out. One minute you're making grub for the boys on the boat and installing a moon scope on a Mosin Nagant. Then you're building rabbit hutches for your adopted rabbit family. And now, with hardly a break you're off somewhere roofing houses.
I can barely keep up with you.

You don't have any Mexican roofers around there. They fly in like a swarm of bee's and done gone.

Sooooo it got ... interesting, end up deciding we needed his uncle tractor to get the plywood up , so we walk over there and end up helping him build some of his new metal building in exchange for borrowing it
[Linked Image]

But got that done and got the tractor and again realized we had now clue how to put this stuff on....buuut we all said if meth heads can do we can , so some Google and we got up the first 12sheets and we ran out of light but no rain for a week or so so what can ya do.

The haters will say it's all fake news cool grin seriously though I get bored easy and 20days on a boat makes you a lil anxious

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I like your style

I may not know how to do something but I don't let that stop me either. Figure it out and get to work

About the bars, looks like they left the one window accessible?

Either wanted a way to get in when they locked themselves out or wanted a dedicated entry to pile up the invaders as they try to come in laugh

It’s hard to tell from your picture, but the ends of the plywood should be centered on the rafters. That way they but up flush and are fully supported.

^^^^^^This is correct. The trouble is older houses aren't built with today's dimensions. Looking at the pictures the rafters are not 24 inches on center. The options when I was "volunteered" to help jobs like this were cut all the plywood to fit, or add supports. That was the most feasible option. So we added 2X8's flat in between the rafters where the seams of the plywood were. Couple or three per sheet of plywood. Rafters were open so was the fastest fix. screwed them in from both sides. Wolfy the 2X8's resembled rungs on a ladder if you can't picture what I am saying. G.

Around here code is for the outer 2' of plywood to be pressure treated. Good idea for rainy climates.

Hey...lots of paths to the top of the mountain, and most work good enough, most of the time....but, the edges are still not supported and will flex....instead of fooling with the bracing I think I would have added extra rafters, being it was all exposed it would have been easy. But what's done is done... grin

LOL, How many would you have needed?, even a 2x4 rafter would work for that,

Like I said, what's done will work, but in for a penny, in for a pound... grin
