Very nice bird.
The 20th is opening day in Missouri.
Hopefully it's a good day. As of now there's a lot of rain in the forecast.

Illinois spring turkey season is a little over a month long but is broken up into 5 separate seasons ranging from 5 to 6 days each. We apply via lottery for 1 of the specific "seasons" you can apply in the second lottery for another tag if you want. Landowners can get a permit that is valid for all 5 seasons but only good on their property. As of today in the south zone we are in the second season, third season starts friday and is 6 days long. And the state is split into a north and south zone so the starting dates differ dependent on which zone you are in.

I was heading west on a ridge towards my truck at 7 after hearing birds NE of me early . I was close to the truck and a bird gobbled below on field and east so I eased down and called and he was hammering but this bird came from the west out of the crp and was standing full fan and he got within 50 yards and as much as I hate to admit it first time ever a load of 3 inch federal 9’s TSS and the bird didn’t even kick lol amazing but pricey

The building in the background looks like the corner of a church.
