Early 80's was great! I was referring to the market after Black Monday (October 19, 1987) Worldwide losses on the stock market of an estimated 1.7 trillion. Suddenly fur was something people could do without. Prices plummeted.

I hear ya' Carl, I think it was 87 when everything completely tanked. I was just trying to keep my glass half full

My pap made me some nunchucks out of wood dowel rods and chain. I took em to school in second grade. There was no issue.

I turned 15 in 1962. The 60s were a good decade for me as was the first half of the 70s. Those were changing and chaotic years but with change comes opportunity and growth, but not always w/o some growing pains.
Yes it was great being a kid in the 80's. Vaguely remember the lyrics to that show. Can't remember watching it but have a knack for remembering all tunes and songs. Was one weird show though from that clip. Tell the kids I teach that they don't know how much freedom we had without cell phones. I could go out, my Mom had know idea where I was, and couldn't get a hold of me if she wanted to. We also didn't get in trouble for constantly taking pictures and videos of all the questionable things we did.

Elm, I wound up in the hospital because I ran a pitchfork into my foot, I had been throwing compost and gigged myself pretty deep. I had to have iv meds because doctors were afraid of serious infection and fungus inside. They thought they might have to take my foot… Luckily everything went good. I’ll never forget how bad that mother father hurt though.. throbbing and intense pain. Now I know why they chased Frankensteins monster with them.

The 80’s, like every other decade, had some great stuff. But progress and time, marched on. I’m glad they did. In the 80’s nobody was talking about beavers and otters with anything other than 330s and #4 dbl longsprings. My state of Wisconsin, at the time, required furs be sold within a week of the close of a season. Huge coon catches were 200, in my state. Long lining, on a daily basis, was never discussed. Dogproofs, as we know them, weren’t used. The 1 1/2 coil was just getting looked at as a serious coon trap. The drawback being 25% chew-outs. It was not common at all to see laminations or double jaws. Nope, the 80s were fine, but I’d rather live now.
Never too old to learn

I liked the '50s. We did not buy muscle cars, we made them!!! and drove them hard. New interstate roads were being built everywhere, and while under construction the were free race tracks while the bridges were under construction we had open highway race tracks. Drove everything to max speed wound out tight......jk
