Going through so old trapping stuff in the loft in my son's barn. Found numerous urine that are atleast 8 years old. Use it or lose it?

I have part of a gallon of coyote urine I bought from O'Gormans around 1990. It still smells the same now as the day I bought it.

Good clean urine will last forever as long as the cap and enclosure are still in some what good condition. If it is a metal cap I would replace it if you can get one the same size. I have some 20 plus years old I save for special circumstances in the field. It is very strong and dark.

I would never hesitate to use older urine. Even soured urine will get results from my field tests and use. If I want to create a new marking scent area I will often use what I deemed poor quality urine that I won't sell.

Dump 4-6 oz. on my selected marking object and let nature take its course. It will develop a life of its own in a few weeks. Come season I will catch several fox and coyote on that scent station.

If it doesn't smell like sewage, use it.

The fresher the better for me. Ive collected my own and that fresh stuff is different, even after its been bottled a month or two. When I would bottle the collected urine or clean the collection trays id wear gloves and try to very attentive to try and not get any on me, yet when I came in the house the house cat and dog would be all over me. Didn't get the same results after handle urine that had been collected for some time.
