I am looking to change from a horizontal beam to a vertical beam similar to the blue English system. I currently have the beam and could build the mount and base. However I don't know what angle to use for the beam or anything like that. Does anyone have plans for a horizontal beam setup that would show me what the support on the wall would look like and how far the base of the beam should be from the wall? I would just buy the whole Blue English system if it was available.
Thank you guys for your help

Kish75 Hopefully by watching these you can see the angle, brackets and a couple set ups. Good luck and I would love to see your final set up.

Here is what I came up with for a vertical fleshing beam Mount...
The beam will be hinged to the platform and a spring will be between the beam and the wall to keep tension. Cutouts in the front of the platform are for your feet to go under so that you can get closer to the beam.

Very nice, thanks for showing it. I have a friend that has always fleshed on a system like that. He's a real big man and he says it has definitely saved his back through the years.

What fleshing knife(s) do you plan on using?

Currently using two cheap knives. I may buy a necker or a green English to try. Do you have any recommendations?

The blue English system I believe had a Sheffield knife for slicing and a cheap second knife for pushing/pulling. Sheffield and caribou make a knife with a sharp concave side. I believe thats what you want for vertical fleshing.

I flesh on a standard beam and i push and slice. Im not a necker fan
I like caribou, ausable superior, post, zepf, Lee's because these are truly razor sharp knives and thats what I like for coon and skunk necks, and beaver. These knives have the sharp side on the convex side.
