that a cowbird knows it is a cowbird? They lay their eggs in other birds nest and never raise their young. Last year I saw one in a red winged blackbird nest and also one that a robin was feeding on an evergreen branch in the windbreak. So we have the same species raised in different habitats, by different types of parents. But every year male and female cowbirds are out in the pasture with my cows. Sometimes out in the garden I see it and sometimes wonder just how they "know" that that is what they are?? G.

Those things will hang out in the bee yards and eat honeybees. They’ll spend a couple hours a day at it…if you let them.
