Put on a little display representing the WI Trapper's Association at the Random Lake Conservation Fair today. Several hundred people, lots of families. Had a great time. Talked to a lot of people, promoting trapping and wearing fur. Kids really liked the fur display.

Kyle, is that painted trade gun one of Clay Smith's creations?

My dad built that one, and I did the paint work on it. We definitely used Clay's work as inspiration.

Display looks very well done, Kyle. Did you and Becca get in the same place as we were last year or were you setup in the main gym? Fur always draws a crowd. I think people have seen fur bearers in zoos, or TV etc. but never really get to touch their fur. The vast majority have never seen traps. Thank you for doing the event again this year. Was the crowd similar to last year? We got all the sap equipment out of the woods with all the rain and mud. Were not able to get everything cleaned up. Trying to wash and get dry around 500 5-6 gallon buckets around the rain and wind has been a challenge. We stopped today as it was cold in the wind and the buckets were blowing around a lot.

Looks like a cool display that would have drawn me in when I was 5 or 50.

Bruce, the crowd was great, lots of people right til closing. I think the weather had people looking for indoors stuff to do. We were in the small front gym, I think that was still under construction last year. We were near the DNR, NWTF, and the kids activities (fishing, bird houses, succulent plants and other games).

Talled to several people interested in trapping, and a few that trapped as kids that want to get back into it.
