I have seven from February I saved, I hung them from a wire like castor. They are hard but still sweating grease. I put them in the freezer yesterday. Is there anything I could do with em to make a lure?

Rat glands should be fresh frozen, not dried like castor. Keep them frozen until you get enough to work with and you decide what you want to do with them.

I smash them up fresh into a pint jar. There’s sodium benzoate mixed in with them. As I add more, I stir them in.

I love the smell of rat glands. To make a gland lure, I mix the gland mash with blackstrap molasses.

Their attraction to most all animals we trap make them well worth saving even in a small amounts. Top shelf ingredient in my experience. Be warned about playing around making formulations its a slippery slope when the bug bites you.
