Guys, what’s the best way you have found for attaching the fishing string across the trigger wires??
I keep trying to tie it on as tight as I can,, but it tends to keep slipping off.
I do like pan active body grips .. but I’d still like to know how you guys do it.

Lay the trigger wire ends on a piece of steel and take a hammer and beat them flat. Tie the line above the flattened area.

You can get small crimps for braided fishing line that should work...

I think over the years I’ve tried about all of the ways and have settled on this. Don’t laugh because for me the easiest and best way I’ve found. I had a bunch of hooks in the tackle box so I used Gorilla epoxy and epoxied the hooks on to the triggers leaving the hook’s eyes exposed. After the epoxy hardened I cut the hooks shanks off. Extremely easy to do with a strong, almost flush profile. I used 30# Fireline. Photo was taken before cuttingn the hook shanks.

Use some of that translucent yellow silicon tubing to trap the monofilament line on the trigger wires after forming them into a slightly bell shaped configuration…the ends can point straight down but the tag ends can form a circle about 2-2 1/2” in diameter, forming the most inviting opening for a mink to dart through. The fishing line does not have to be stretched taught as this is a belly catch much like a circular blade of grass.
