I hang my cloths on the line , spray with a 2 gallon pump up garden sprayer , then let dry

6 weeks or 6 washings so just make a plan to do it every month there isn't snow on the ground and you are good.

I just took a dog tick off the lower left side of my back. We have had to deal with ticks on us, or the house dogs, almost every warmer day, for about 3 weeks. Every little itch or tickle makes us think there's a tick on us right now.

Forgot the actual ratio, I get the premix water base stuff cause I can't stand the "oily" smell.
Directions say to spray till damp, no need to soak, and let completely dry...should get 6 washings out of a dose, more if you line dry, but I'd re dose it by then...You can do pant's, socks, boots, tents etc....

X 1,000 on the Permethrin, I use Sawyer's brand.

I spray my hunting clothing once a year before the season starts. Spray until damp then let dry.

The stuff just flat out works.

Eh...wot?

LOL. More like 20-30 a day here on our dogs.

I've picked upwards of 100 off my yellow and red labs on hunt days. I don't even try to see them on the black lab.

I use Credelio, a once-a-month chewable for my dogs. It doesn't keep the ticks off them but it keeps 99% of them from biting and the few that do die quickly. It is actually effective for six weeks or longer so that is the frequency I use. I stop giving it in November and start again in March

Pete, I'm not sure the stuff in your link is safe to put directly on dogs?

Eh...wot?

it is the active ingredient it flee and tick shampoo for dogs

there are label mixing directions on the Country Vet brand for Kennels that is strong and a weaker mix for dog and cattle bathing.

you have to let the kennel fully dry before you let the dog back in.

You can NOT get it on cats or in water with fish

once it is fully dry it does not kill fish when you wade through a creek with treated pants.

Pete, what is the ratio for the dog wash?

Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you

this is the concentration of 1 ounce 13.3% to one gallon of water I use for clothing and to spray around the foundation , doors and windows of the house.

wife had an ant issue with them coming up form the concrete floor under the carpet at her office when she worked for the farm co-op in town , I went in at 4:30 on Friday and sprayed all the baseboards in the office and all the way around the building it was a little old cement block building with lots of cracks.
let it have all weekend to dry and she was vacuuming up dead ants Monday.

for ease of application I will get 2 of these and do the yard inside the fence and a little over the fence.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Cutter-...trate-Insect-Killer-HG-61067-8/100211822

my fenced area is 120x120 approximately

I don't do my garden or my herbs that area is about 40'x50'

I do that about the time I start noticing mosquitos regular , cut the grass on a sunny day then put the dogs in the house for a little while and spray the yard they can go back out when it is dry.

my son didn't trust my permethrin spray or mix so I bought him a bottle of ready to use dog flea and tick shampoo , it is easy to use and he bathed the dogs so I wasn't complaining cost comes to around 60 cents a use so not awful and it doesn't smell bad and it lathers so I guess that helps keep it there. I can confirm dead ticks in the tub after a bath with it.

my dogs also have the lymes vaccine and take a monthly chewable so we only really use the shampoo in early hunting season.

so technically with my readers on in the better light

phenothrin is the active in the dog shampoo vs the Permethrin in the concentrate.

they are in the same family

source
https://www.epa.gov/mosquitocontrol...umithrinr-synthetic-pyrethroids-mosquito

Permethrin, Resmethrin, d-Phenothrin (Sumithrin®): Synthetic Pyrethroids For Mosquito Control
Pyrethroids are synthetic chemical insecticides that act in a similar manner to pyrethrins, which are derived from chrysanthemum flowers. Pyrethroids are widely used for controlling various insects. Permethrin, resmethrin, and d-phenothrin (Sumithrin®) are synthetic pyrethroids commonly used in mosquito control programs to kill adult mosquitoes.

Permethrin has been registered by the EPA since 1979. It is currently registered and sold in a number of products such as residential indoor and outdoor insect foggers and sprays, treated clothing, flea products for dogs, termite treatments, agricultural and livestock products, and mosquito abatement products. It is also regulated by the Food and Drug Administration as a treatment of head lice and scabies. Permethrin is the most widely used mosquito adulticide in the U.S. and is used to treat 9 to 10 million acres annually (out of 32-39 million acres treated with a mosquito adulticide). Permethrin’s widespread use can be attributed to its low cost, high effectiveness, low incidence of pest resistance, and broad labeling.
Resmethrin has been registered by the EPA since 1967. It is currently registered for use only in public health and vector control programs to control adult mosquitos, biting and non-biting midges and blackflies. Because of its toxicity to fish, resmethrin is a Restricted Use Pesticide that is available for use only by certified pesticide applicators or persons under their direct supervision. The resmethrin registrants voluntarily canceled all of the resmethrin products. After December 31, 2015, resmethrin registrants will no longer be able to sell and distribute resmethrin products. However, user will be able to continue using any product they have purchased.

D-phenothrin (Sumithrin®) has been registered by the EPA since 1976 for use to control adult mosquitos and other nuisance insects indoors and outdoors in residential yards and public recreational areas. Use sites include in and around residential/domestic dwellings, commercial and industrial buildings, transportation vehicles, recreation areas, animal quarters, direct animal treatment (dogs). While there are no direct applications to food crops, d-phenothrin labels allow for applications to control mosquitoes over agricultural as well as non-agricultural areas.
