Anyone have experience or advice on battery powered trimmer and blower?
Time to put down my gas powered equipment.
Looking for something to trim edges and blow leaves and grass.
Thinking about a combo using same batteries.
Mid-range level will suffice.
Personal use only.

Not sure if its been discussed before.
Want to get it right first-time .
Thx for advice and experience anyone may have.

I got the Ego leaf blower. It’s legit, plenty of power. I use on combine and it gets her done. Think they have a trimmer as well. I would buy again

I've heard good stuff about the Echos

I use a Milwaukee trimmer and like it very much. Never go back to a gas for home use.

Uses the same battery as my drill.

I got tired of the gas crap not starting or having other problems - seems like there was always an issue.
I love Ryobi.
Have had mine for several years. interchangeable heads make it great for multiple uses.
Battery lasts plenty long.

That’s been my experience as well but I have also used Echo brand ones as well, my advice is if you go with a name brand you’ll have few problems if any, I know from experience that both Milwaukee and Echo stand by their products

On a side note my recommendation is buy the highest voltage tools you can get and find products that use the same batteries for everything

I have Ryobi's, cause I have the batteries already....these are the 18v system....they work good enough for what I need, blower, trimmer, builder tools, etc.

For the bigger tools get the 4AH batteries...Nice thing about Ryobi, is there's always sales and packages with extra batteries....tools end up almost free, and I haven't had a tool fail yet...

I have the EGO string trimmer and blower and am very pleased with both. Thet are 56V, with plenty of power and battery life. Quality of pretty much everything they make is first class. They are not in-expensive, but my motto is, buy quality and you only cry once.

Just doing what I want now.

I bought an ego weed walker for my wife. She loves to weed eat and my gas model is too heavy. Before I bought it I looked at the different brands and I liked ego the best. Handle broke first season but IMO a good value.

what battery platform do you already run

or you are choosing the battery platform you want to be running

I have Rigid , buy them through Home depot

I also have some M12 and M18 I was in Rigid tools years before I got the M12 and M18 so i have several batteries

M18 if you can spend the coin is good stuff

Rigid is also made by TTI that is the parent company that makes Milwaukee power tools , Rigid electric power tools , and Ryobi

Ryobi is the consumer line , the Rigid is the mid grade high use consumer and Milwaukee is the pro line it also generally has the most proven tools and the most selection of specialty tools.

I have the Rigid blower and string trimmer combo as well as a 1/2 inch impact , a drill , driver, circular saw , lights , fan , air compressor , a inverter and radio all running on Rigid 18v batteries in total I have 9 batteries 3 of the 4 amp hour that are needed to really run the Impact , the blower or the string trimmer.

then I started getting into M12 and M18 tools

I got this set last year , it works , I did have to warrantee the blower the day I got it as the trigger was bad after 30 seconds , but they took care of it some electronic component failed in the switch but it has been fine a year since
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-...Ah-Battery-and-Charger-R019001/323015430

I get about 20 minutes of run time on a battery

We have a DeWalt hedge trimmer, smaller blower that has a good output, and a 12" chainsaw they all work good and battery life is good even with the 5amp batteries.

Got my mom a Stihl weedeater and blower. Both work well. The weedeatar lasts about 45min. That's all the time she wants to be outside at once anyway.

I have a small dewalt battery chainsaw. Works well for small trees and limbing the larger ones. Also have a ryobi long pole battery chainsaw and that has been useful to get through the thorny branches to get to the base and cut off Russian olive. Both of those work well for us.
