Are Old Fur Coats worth Anything or Should they be Tossed ?

Depends on how they were stored.
Old fur coats re styled by local furriers over the last two or three years for young women is what sparked the current fur boom.

My SIL uses them for fancy doll clothing. She has also re worked some for new garments.to be worn.

I have took old coats and made other stuff. Vest ,hats and I made some legging for the top of boots.

I knew someone that used them to make teddy bears

Did not mess with the one I inherited. Got to much stuff for my age good will likes me and I’m not on face book. Wife does that I just answer yes no explanation of questions

Leopard coats and ocelot coats are big $$$ .

both small furrier businesses and big fur coat factories here offer redesign of old fur coats. As long as the leather is fine, fur coats can be remodeled and repurposed. Some furs, especially formaldehyde-tanned such as swakara, last forever. Sometimes new fur is added as trim or to replace old worn out parts. Dyeing is also a thing. Lots of money in it.
