Spent a lot more time in the marsh with the camera this spring and had a blast. Fun to watch the stages of migration as the different birds show up and when the Blue-wing teal arrive it’s a sight that the end is near.
While it’s a lot like duck hunting it is far more challenging with a camera. Getting the sun and wind right are critical without those 2 things to your back it just doesn’t work. Also much tougher to hide as a guy needs an open lane to shoot without interference but it also leaves an opening for birds to pick you out. Definitely a challenge and I learn more everyday in the field. Hope you enjoy.

Great pictures, I don’t know my ducks. But those with that big white chest are all over the place,

Those are awesome photos! I love all the duck species but mallards are my favorite, I love hunting them in corn fields and every once in awhile you get a bonus pintail or grey duck in with them. Great photos!

That one golden eye is quite the shot, splits anyone, the one blue bill is also a great contrast picture,if the sun would have been hitting the drake shoveler head to show off all the hidden colors my favorite this time is the blue wing teal banking and riding the wind.Pintails are my favorite ducks and your depth of field picture of them is also stuning, thanks for sharing your talent with the camera....

Excellent photographs, very impressive.

I'm not much of a waterfowl guy, but your pictures make them look amazing.
