Darn glad you got tires turning again Sam. Sorry to hear your bad luck. No bad luck at all. When I bent the four-way with my big strong manly hands, my wife gave me one of those "looks" like she did back when we met each other. I'm calling it a win. Lol.

Note to self: pop each lug nut off, add anti-seeze while at home, and buy a med deep socket and beefy breaker bar before the next road trip.

We got rolling, Lefty. Got a hand from a couple really friendly MO state troopers. Bent two tire irons and couldn't break the last nut with a smaller impact, and eventually had to get it towed to the shop. It embarrassed me, but wasn't terrible costly. Thats a fear of mine, especially when im out hunting in the middle of nowhere, that some idiot at the tire shop gets the lugnuts so tight I cant break them lose out in the field to change a tire if I need to.

Also take some of that anti seize..and put a very light coat on the back side of
The rim...where it comes in contact with the hub.
My sons 2019 Chevy Truck broke down in a parking lot today.
Made a horrific noise and puked all the antifreeze on the ground.
Looks like the water pump grenaded.
Tow truck and all that happy Stuff
Glad you got rolling Sam ....break downs blow.
2019 Silverado 1/2 ton ..97k miles on it...
They don't make them ..like they use to

Went to rotate tires on my jeep. Was not happy. Could not get the lugnuts loose with a 4 way. Had to put a 4 foot piece of pipe on it to break them loose. Wife was getting new tires on her car. Called them and told them NOT to hammer them on with the 3/4 drive impact they use. Next day had to drive about 30 miles to tighten the lugs on her car. Its just laziness on the part of the tire guy. To lazy to final tighten them by hand adding about two minutes to the job.

It beats the alternative!
Funny story you might appreciate- over the weekend an MRI found a tiny piece of metal in my head and asked if I knew how it had gotten there. Back when I was about 16 I was helping an uncle with fall harvest, and he had spun a bearing somewhere under a row header. He had sent me for a chisel as the race was welded to the shaft, but just as I got down low enough to hand it to him it succumbed to the hammer that he was swinging, exploded, and knocked me back on my butt. I still have a tiny bit of proud flesh right in middle of my forehead but never would have guessed there was anything inside of it.
Knowing that uncle he would have rendered first aid which would have been "rub some Copenhagen on it, you'll be fine". 40 years later we find out the rest of the story.
