Hey all.... Last year I had some slipped vertebrae put back into place and lower back fusion. This year I had some more above them fused. Lot of grinding to make room for the nerves. That was in Jan... My left leg is not doing very good... seems heavy and clumsy and half asleep. Balance ain't the greatest so I use a cane most the time. I know my left hip is shot.... they told me that years ago, along with my right knee.. I am having lot of pain and my nerve surgeon who did my back thinks that bad hip COULD be causing complications... said maybe need to get it replaced... it could help... and it may not help. BIg decision...I had my right hip total replacement done 3 or 4 years ago. Anybody ever have a bad hip cause more nerve problems other than pain ??

My bad hip was causing back problems for me. Was putting me out of alignment by favoring it. Using a cane will still have your back out of wack. Had my hip replaced 5 weeks ago and my back is also getting back to normal. As you know if your hip is bad, it won't fix itself and limping around will just make your back worse. My life is slowing getting back to normal since my surgery and I had three back surgeries before the hip.
I wish you the best. Take care and God bless

I also found out that it was my hip that’s causing my problem. I noticed about 15 years ago while climbing poles, my right hip was always a bit sore. Hips & knees are the Lineman killer. A chiro noticed it, long ago, but just did adjustments every now and then. Now I started doing some back, leg and hip stretching and it’s made a huge difference! Eventually before I retire from the Corporation, I’ll have to get things professionally looked at. It doesn’t matter how strong you are, if you’re beaver trapping, you’re gonna be grunting…….lol. Now I grunt a lot less….

Mine had made it hard to drive any long distances without cruise control. It will also drop me to my knees, out of the blue, with incredible back pain.
My biggest issue is in my neck. It affects my shoulder, arm and chest. Sometimes it feels like a heart attack.
Thank goodness for cbd 1 to 1’s….

Not to get too personal, but how heavy are you? If you can afford to lose 10 or 20 pounds it will take some undue stress off of you back, hip and knee. Worth a try and only costs you some willpower. If that doesn't help your pain, it will make your recovery from more surgery easier. Hey everyone thanks for the comebacks. Yes it seems like a bad hip can cause alot of other problems with your skeleton and bone structure. And bad back! I have been doing alot of reading on the webb. I will go see the DR that has done my right hip and left knee a few years ago. I already know what he is going to say.......told me my right knee and left hip were shot back then also. I would go to the DR right now but my 1 year younger brother fell down and broke (or bad cracked) his pelvic bone and he needs some assistance now. He sees the specialist tomorrow. Same DR. If he doesn't need surgery then I'll make a time to see the specialist. I am sure an MRI will be ordered. Maybe not ...... AS far as losing a few pounds..... It seems like that is always a good deal for most of us. I used to be about 6'1" and always 225 to 235 lbs... up till I was 50 or so... now at almost 70 I am probably about 5'11 and just weighed 241 lbs at my back surgery physical in Jan... I move up and down the scale a few lbs each way depending on how active I am... Thanks again !!
