It’s one of the best smells ever!!!

I was working on an old Johnson’s 3hp outside my shop one year. My daughter, around 10 at the time, was walking by just as I started the motor. She stopped in the thick cloud of blue smoke, took a deep smell and said “ahhhh Canada!”. LMAO.

how about the almost no smell and very minimal noise of my 4 stroke , I didn't think I would enjoy the 4 stroke as much as I do after all the years I spent with 2 stroke , I never much minded mixing but man it is so nice to top off at the pump on the way home and know it's ready to go again.

I used to keep a 5 gallon can and mix in the can and then fill the boat so I didn't have to guess at how much it was going to take , put 3 gallons in the 5 gallon can and mix for it

we used to spend days trolling on Michigan when I was a kid , my job was drive the boat while dad set lines.
used to get what I thought was sea sick and realized it was not sea sick as it only happened on days we were trolling with the waves , the breeze would blow the 2 stroke fumes up I was sitting below the windshield and that was trapping fumes in the cabin , soon as he switched to a 4 stroke Honda for a kicker I quit getting sick , it wasn't like puke sick it was a headache and it was only days that the wind was just so , often a bit colder with the center windshield closed up .
dad didn't get it because he was standing in the open getting fresh air.
I also didn't get it when my little brother was old enough to be driving and I was also setting lines in the back.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I'll pass on the weight and needing the dealer on speed dial for something that I can fully tear down and fix myself.

Walking into work at 6am in the spring the suns just coming up and the birds are just starting in. I can't be in that situation without thinking about how I should be launching a boat at the boat ramp to go fishing instead.

Want a 4 stroke?, get a Honda, lighter than the others, quiet and pays for itself in fuel savings.....and they don't break... grin

I just replaced the Tohatsu motor on my boat for a Honda 4 stroke. A few things I've noticed right away is that the Honda is heavier, not as fast, and requires more maintenance than my old 2 stroke Tohatsu motor. The only reason I switched motors was that when I took the Tohatsu in for a tune up, it was hard to find parts for it and took a month to get a few minor parts. I wish I had stuck with a two stroke.

You know you're old when you walk past a rest room and think, as long as I'm here........

My 96 50HP Merc just got a tune up in the last couple of springs right before my boat place went out of business. She's a screamer and smells like a peach. Knock on wood. Yamaha Banshee is what a real two stroke smells like though. Blew a ignition coil a couple years ago going out across the lake. You feel like a delinquent trolling in. I was on a fancy high dollar ski boat once and they broke down. No oar. No trolling motor. A goofy anchor with about 50' of rope tied in a birds nest knot. Just drifting in 100' of water toward the rocks with a gel coat nicer than anything I ever owned. He was like what do I do? I had to jump up on the bow, wave someone down, and throw them a rope. Be prepared. I like running my old fishing boat and beaching her when I feel like it. Maybe I will get a four-stroke someday. Probably less ethanol issues. I just run my carb dry and park it.

Warm dog, dried marten skins, cottonwood buds, and I can probably think of a few others.

Deisel exhaust fumes on a cold morning before sunrise does it for me. I stop and listen for cadence calls and almost feel like falling into formation, almost.
