I have a few favorites but Jimmy Stuart stands out. Not just for his acting, but mostly as a person. Only had one wive. War hero. Never had a bad word towards or about anybody, that I know of. Just a decent humble guy. Dang rare thing in that game.

At a roast once, Orson Wells had a turn to roast Jimmy. He said “Let me be serious for a minute. We all know Hollywood changes people, I just have to say, Hollywood did not change Jimmy. Jimmy changed Hollywood.. and for the better.” (Para phrasing, but that was the gist of it). Orson went on and on about what a great person Jimmy was and the crowd and other actors were applauding like crazy.
