I filled the kitchen sink with fresh rhubarb this morning, and told my wife that pie ain't going to make its self. She turned it into rhubarb-strawberry jam instead. I can live with that!

Cant wait! Planted some last spring. Hoping to harvest for the first time pretty soon, but ive heard only a very light harvest the second year and then normal after that.

We always have more than we want. About 60 seconds after the snow melted off the bed they started sprouting! This was a record cold winter too. Several days were 50 below. There was 2 or more feet of snow over them.

My wife should be making some soon. We don't have any "red" rhubarb but have an old "green" variety thats not as sweet but still good.
Wife likes to make it mixed with pineapple instead of strawberries like alot of folks do. Im allergic to strawberry.
Is yours mixed with anything or just straight rhubarb and sugar?

Thanks for all the replys, this was just straight rhubarb. The first pie this year the wife made was like a rhubarb custard with no top crust. It was OK, but I like the regular pie with a top crust. The patch is 4 feet tall and going to seed already. I need to pick more and cut it up and freeze more in 4 cup bags so it is pie ready.

I didn’t see slices advertised in the trap shed I’m bummed. Looks terrific!
