My daughters decided she wants a Koolie dog pup from a lady in Washington state. She is concerned about shipping and not suemre if flying, ground, or going to pick it uo would be best.

I know I have see threads here concerning dog transport but didnt pay attention to the details since I never thought it would be shipping a dog. Any info or recommendations would be appreciated.

West Richland Washington is where the dog is and will be going to southern In just north of Louisville ky

Dog is coming from the tri city area.
Good change that it will be conservative. It may have the propensity towards addiction.if you were purchasing a Taco Bell dog, I would double check the documentation.

The cheapest I've found when needing dogs hauled think he makes 2 runs a month.

I have both traveled cross country to pick one up in person and had one flown in nonstop flight, both routes are expensive, time consuming and not without potential mishaps.
If I had to do it again, I'd travel to go pick it up, nothing like 2-3 days of bonding time with your new pup, but you must have the patience of a saint.

I would drive and get it too, though I have always found my dogs more local. Nothing like spending the first few days cooped up with a new dog as far as bonding goes.

I’d put it in a kennel just big enough so it can turn around and lay down. Put kennel in rear passenger seat facing driver so they can see each other. Little gaffer would most likely be kennel trained by the time she gets it home. I’d bring the kennel in the hotel and try to get a room closest to a door as possible.

The last dog I personality went to get was a German Short Hair pup. Went in one of the worst snow storms we had had in years. In good weather it was a 45 min drive each way. Took 4.5 hrs round trip that day.

I was in my jeep had the heater blasting pup curled up and sleep the entire trip on my lap.

When the wife and kids picked up our newest German shepherd pup he sleep on the floor between front seats in the mini van. I was at work on that one. It was about an hour an half trip. Haven't had to go terribly far. This will be the furthest yet. I would not mind geting to see the western part of the country. Shipping would be cheaper
