I'm so glad to hear the formulas have not been lost forever.

My son Ben and I could claim trademark rights to the lure names Mr. Mink and 10,000 Fox since I came up with them and was the first to manufacture and market them, but if any one wants to use them I am not interested in fighting for it. Tracy Gourley was selling Barringer Brand Lures for a while as well, so he may have a finger in the pot. I think it would be a good way to honor Bud's memory by using those lures and those names, I can tell you they were fantastic formulas and really caught the fur. Have at it.

I published his book Mink Tales for him and I do not know how many of them sold, but I think I printed maybe 2,000. All my records on that were lost in the fire. I don't think I even have a copy of the book any more. I see you can still buy it online.

So much water under the bridge since those days!

He would say, depends on how much they are worth, when they were $40+ I would catch quite a bunch(I’d guess maybe 1 coon per every 2-3 mink) but when they were cheap I tried real hard to not catch any.(I’d guess maybe 1 coon per every 10 mink)

Bud hated to catch coon no matter the price cause with his system of a big drag he would have to go looking for them but the mink/rats were drowned out of sight right there at his set.
