No matter what you're hunting, if you see a coyote, it becomes a coyote hunt.
Good work.

I'm not sure I could live some place that was dumb enough to limit killing coyotes to a season.

Do we really ever actually see fawn damage? I've never found one but I guess people do?

In Mo, Yotes are open year round, except for Turkey Season. No limit.

Coyotes may be shot while turkey hunting in Mo if you have a turkey permit.

Coyotes get plenty of fawns, especially the first few weeks after birth.
Not much left to find.. Many go to a den of pups that time of year.

We've found several on our property. Some of the studies in the Midwestern states have found that coyotes can remove up to 60-70% of the fawn crop. I haven't seen it that drastic, but we do find fawns that coyotes have killed.

it didn't apply to land owners or agents of land owners on private property.
but it kept people from public land in the off season.

they also closed down coyote for the week of gun deer for a long time , they didn't want deer hunters shooting wolves thinking they were coyotes.

it is gone now , year round season.

I run about 30 plus trail cameras in my area..
Every year get several to quite a few pictures of coyotes in front of the camera with a fawn in it's mouth. I think the coyotes get a bunch of fawns ....

I don't think I'd have the heart to kill the pups. That's the rationale for the states that have a season, since late winter-early spring is pup season.

I would probably feel differently if I owned a farm and they were going after my livestock. But some coyotes are better-behaved than others; if you take out the well-behaved ones, then it creates a void where new coyotes will move into the territory and they might not be so well-behaved.
