How do y'all set the earthen pond dam crossovers that might be a hundred feet through the briars and woods down the face of the dam?

Here in Georgia snares and big footholds/conis have to be within ten feet of water. I usually set the crawlout in the pond and the outlet stream at the base where the crossover ends. But I just look at those beat down trails down the dam face and shake my head at the many possible snare sets I can't set.

Anyone do blinds with coyote sized footholds? That would be a 5.75 inside for me. Wonder if a half full five gallon bucket qualifies as water?

No such restrictions here. I just pop in 220s on stabilizers.

280s would be legal as the cut off is 9.5 must in water or within ten feet.

Are you catching beaver with 220s?

Oh yeah. Can't keep the stupid things outta my otter sets. Hate em!!

All Belisle 220s, mostly all on stands.

These the kind of trails you're talking about?

Once in a while the critter that's supposed to be getting caught even shows up.

Yup, that's what I'm talking about.

I really don't have a huge amount of experience setting conis on dry ground due to where I'm usually setting. That and I prefer snares to conis.

Guess I'll break out these bridger 280s that are sitting around doing nothing.

Bucket of water grin

Countersink it so Mr Green jeans tramps in it.
That should do it.
