I've got the Marlin 1895 Guide Gun. I've used, Starline, Remington, Winchester and Hornady brass. Starline is my favorite but any of them but Hornady is fine. Hornady brass is a tenth of an inch shorter than anybody else's due to being designed for the longer leverolution bullets. Because it is shorter most non Hornady dies will not crimp Hornady brass. I've used them and not had issues, but quit using Hornady brass because I don't trust uncrimped loads in tube magazines.

For sure. One must crimp the case or the bullet will settle into the case, compressing the load, etc.
Not a good deal..
