Clay we found our bowls at a dollar tree for a buck and I drilled three holes and made a tripod holder to hang from a tree.

The color is part of the equation. Orioles are attracted to the color orange. Also, actual oranges.

Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you

UPDATE!

Found 2 jars of Grape Jelly left over from last year and an orange quite shriveled up in the fridge drawer. Got my feeder out and in less than 5 minutes had Orioles. We usually have both Orchard and Baltimore.

This is the type of oriole feeder I use, cheap and easy. Stir the jelly up a little then screw jar in.

Both Baltimore and Orchard here too. The Orchard Orioles aren't here yet, but they will be!

Okay, this is funny. We have that feeder, but had to do a major renovation on it. First, you're supposed to turn a little paddle to make more jelly come down from the jar into the tray, but we had to do that every 30 minutes to keep up with demand. Then we tried adding just enough water to the jelly to make it feed into the tray by itself. Finally, we found it easiest to fill by eliminating the jar and just dumping piles of grape jelly onto the tray. That was the fastest and easiest way for us to keep it full and avoid their complaints! laugh

I just use 1/2 pint and 1/4 pint canning jars placed on my deck rail, placed where I can see them through my window. I put 4 drywall screws around each of the jars with most of the screw sticking out, to keep the jars from falling off the wood rail. I just fill the jars as needed with grape jelly. Orioles and house finches eat the jelly. I also put out any grapes that get too old for me to eat, and the orioles and house finches like those also.

I get Baltimore, Bullock's, and Orchard Orioles here.

Update: The Orchard Orioles have arrived here. I just went out and added 16oz (half of 32oz jar) of grape jelly to the old feeder.

I walked back inside and we now have Baltimore and Orchard Orioles, living in harmony. (Sorry about the bad picture!)
