I was just in my fur barn cleaning salt up from salting my deer hides and was pondering a question. Do you think it will be an issue if I used this salt for freeze proofing my coyote sets this fall? I have almost 5 gallons of it and thought it might be a good idea. Your thoughts?

For winter hay sets, I wouldn’t hesitate using it.

I would think the coyotes could smell residue from the deer in it.

It might work if you salted the whole area not just the trap bed
Population density has a lot to do with what you can get away with at a set
Here with low population and high pressure I can't get away with much disturbance or odd and strong oders

Well I will just take it out and pour it on a stump or old rotten log.

I used it to spray poison ivy, then the deer ate the PI.
Seemed like a win until the salt junked out my
cheapo sprayer so I quit.

I used the salt from our old water softener to keep the weeds down in our rock driveway. Works pretty good.

Save it for putting it on your gravel road weeds or for killing unwanted shrubs / trees.

Wouldnt use it for predator sets.
