I wouldn’t be surprised if they went back to 3 sales next year.

Right now the only focus at FH is to get fur graded and catalogs ready. Once that is done they will update shipper accounts. Patience.

I believe GFW is putting the hurt on them with the beaver. GFW will buy green beaver and some trappers like this convenience.

An explanation for low beaver numbers in my area is difficult conditions, heavy snow kept forest access limited. When it finally broke extreme flooding occurred. That and late market potential may have reduced harvest.

Beaver was a surprise in March. By then many trappers are disconnected and those that aren’t are often skeptical of upswings. The recent record is nt that good. Take the muskrats and coon for example, they both underperformed in the face of strong momentum and the country continues to write them off as weak.

It will be a wait and see situation, that if breaks will be followed by a hope it’s not a flash in the pan.
