I have a straight shaft Stihl gas. Also have a Milwaukee electric. Mostly use the Milwaukee when the wife wants to weed eat as she has a hard time starting the stihl. I prefer the Stihl because it is lighter and especially if there is a lot to do. The Milwaukee edger attachment works great.

Same here love my Echo. I do heavy grass and brush with mine. Doubt a battery unit would hack it.
