Although I am familiar with the barker mink pans, and the expand a pan stuff out there..
I finally ordered a dozen barker pans( per the suggestion of some folks) and dang,, I was really impressed at much of a kill area is on those things.
My preference has always been the #2 double longs because they are more universal to me in my water trapping… but when I saw how much bigger it makes a#11.. I’m certainly going to be using more of them.
We all pretty much know the holding power of those 11dbl.. it’s pretty tough for a critter to escape from them if the frame doesn’t bend and the jaws pop.

As crazy as it sounds, I catch more mink in #330’s than any other trap. When I target mink, I opt for a 110 or 120.

I've used the Barker pans on my 11's for many years on the mink and coon lines. Almost never had a coon remove the pans which was a concern of mine when I converted all my 11's. Great set-up.

59 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

Barker pans are ok but the Wild River pans are much better in my opinion.

Can’t say anything about Barkers, but I can vouch for Wind River. My mink numbers ain’t much, but the 1.5s set up with WR pans that I bought off Mbcoonguy says something. That’s all he runs.

Wind Blew, crap flew, out came the line crew

Stock # 2 victor coil suffice, use a jump stick if necessary.
Now we have to replace those cut down pans Weiland spoke of dirtering. back and forth.
Mink are directional, you catch them line of travel or force them looking.

I do use the old style#2 victors. I really like them in pocket sets ran off on a drowning rig.I simply don’t own enough of them… I did consider putting some mink pans on them as well .

Don’t know why I’ve never committed to putting larger pans on because I’ve read about them for YEARS. Although I don’t worry a whole lot about toe caught critters ( which I’ve heard about the debate on using them on land traps) because they are usually off on a drowning rig and they expire pretty quickly.
